With the UK going into it’s second, and hopefully final, lockdown we have sadly had to halt in-person activities until it is safe to resume them. This is of course a great shame and not how we wanted this term to go but in the meantime are happy to say that weekly Wednesday online training sessions are still running. If you haven’t already come along, please feel free to join whenever! Online training is offered as part of our free remote membership (available here: https://studentsunionucl.org/clubs-societies/parkour-club) and is taught by the wonderful Jason Cheung.
Until we can meet up again in person, we would encourage you to try and find a friend to practice any of the parkour you have learnt so far in an outdoor location. We use the Facebook group ‘Extreme Urban Freestrolling’ (link: https://www.facebook.com/groups/ucluparkourclub) to organise uncoached meetups between members, so if you haven’t already, join the group and keep an eye out for anyone looking to go practice. Parkour offers a great opportunity to get out the house, get some exercise, meet some new people and explore London a bit more, which are all great things to be doing right now with all the added stress and strain that staying indoors can cause.
If you have any questions, whether it be asking for a spot near you to practice at, finding a person to go with, what events the society is planning, or anything else, please don’t hesitate to message us at our Facebook page (https://www.facebook.com/UCLUParkour) or our Instagram (https://www.instagram.com/uclparkour/).
We wish you all the best in these trying times and are very excited to restart in-person training and see you all again as soon as we can. Look after your self and see you on the other side:)
